I think that Jace & Clary aren't related, just that they were experimented on by Valentine and that's how they're brother and sister, but not biologically.

I think Valentine is the first bad guy that I don't like at all - maybe it's because there are enough other characters with attitude in this series, and they fill my bad boy void. But he is just to aggravating and to confusing for me to really develop a soft spot for him.

Like with Voldie or Malfoy I knew their motives and understood why they were doing what they were. But with Valentine I just don't really totally understand some of his methods. Plus I feel like there is something about him that we haven't been told yet.

Exactly! I feel the same. He's one of the first villains in a long time that I really haven't liked...

i think that valentine is pretty messed up in the head cuz he honestly believes that he's right and everyone else is wrong. but the really bad part is that the worst is probably still to come in the last book. poor jace and clary...
i have my suspicions about sebastian too...

I kind of felt sorry for Valentine, at the end of COG.... ( will put it under a spoiler)

I mean, clearly throughout the whole series his goal was to "cleanse" the shawdow hunter world and he actualy thought what he was doing was right (clearly he was crazy, but you could see where it came from). Odviously I didn't want him to obtain his goal of destroying all the shawdow hunters, but when Jace dies and he finds out that Jonathan is dead it kind of remindes us that he is still human and although he is clearly and evil person he still has some emotion. (some being the key word there)
