I'm going to make a HP reference, as Magnus is like Hermione in these books. The group would be screwed without Magnus coming and saving the day. Kind of like Harry would have been screwed many times if it wasn't for the help of Hermione. Whether it be healing, performing some kind of spell, or providing key information....Magnus is there to help in a big way. He is a very cool character and we'll see what kind of help he provides in the CoG.

I guess I see what your saying Tom - but I think that Isabelle might be another extension of the Hermione reference, since she as well always seems to show up at just the right time to save the day, well sort of LoL
