So, we've all heard the rumors of a possible CoB movie. With the way Hollywood works, we could be seeing previews for it before the upcoming HP trailer, or, (god forbid) never at all.

But, let's say they were going to make a movie of it and you (yes! you!) have been appointed as casting director. Who are your picks for the CoB/CoA movies? You can pick anyone you want, be they too old, too young or what have you. Suri Cruise as Isabelle? Go ahead! Mickey Rooney as Jace? Knock yourself out!

If they are what the characters look like to you, we (or just me. Who knows.) want to hear about them! Pictures would be cool as well.

Everyone is still a bit of a mystery to me except for Jace and Alec.

For Jace, the ever-popular Alex Pettyfer. I didn't like him at first, but he really grew on me as Jace. If you haven't seen a picture of Alex Pettyfer, I doubt that you've seen very many MI fan videos.

Thanks to the webmaster of MundieSource who featured him in the website's banner, I am now in love with Gaspard Ulliel as Alec. <3 Honestly, can't you just see him in the role? I think he's perfect. Something about the pictures I've seen him in just screams angst, too - earning him major Alec points.

Sadly, I have never seen either of these guys act, so I have absolutely no idea if they're any good or not. xD

IMO, Clary =/= Alexz Johnson. liek srsly.

No, but I would never want a movie. I'd want a TV seires. Not a movie. It wouldn't work with a movie. But for jace, I totally forget his name, but he is basically my Jace. Uhh.. in The Covenant, the four guys, the one with the blond hair. The one on the motorcycle. Him. He would by my Jace. For sure. But that's all I have. XD. My clary just skips around. Magnus is totally like the guy from Tokio Hotel. I don't know but he's my perfect magnus. He has the glitery racoon eyes and the giant hair. XDDDD. lol. I know, I'm just humouring myself. But yeah, that's my Jace. And he would only apear in a TV seires.

I don't think I agree with you on your Jace.... :/
Alex Pettyfer
I saw him in Stormbreaker, and it was the lamest this everrrr. And he... I just didn't really like him in it. I mean yes, he's gorgeous, absolutly, but he wouldn't be able to pull off Jace. He doesn't have the like, arogance and like, that edge to him. Given, my guy didn't either, so feel free to ignore me. XDDDDDDDD.

As for Gaspard, oh man, total babe. Total babe and beyond babe-hood. XD. But he looks like he's... I don't know over twenty. Which I am more then postive he is, but Alec isn't. XDDD. But oh man, he is drool worthy. So I guess he's good to go. XDDD

So, it's about time that I put my two cents in. I probably got the ages wrong on alot of people but....oh well. Not like I'm *actually* casting the movie!

First up, I think that Saorise Ronan would make on excellent Clary.



For realz. Just darken her hair up a bit and they're good to go.

For Jace, I can't think of any one. Alex Pettyfer would be good, but he can't act. Chace Crawford would be nice, but, honestly, he's wayyyy too old.

For Simon, I can has the most perfectest actor ever. Come, my friends, and gaze upon the delightfully adorable geekiness that is Freddie Highmore.



*dies* Isn't he ADORABLE. Once he grows a little, I think he'd make a great Simon.

Isabelle- Leighton Meester all the way. She's a tad too old, but, for anyone who's seen her on Gossip Girl, is Blair not the Isabelle of the Upper East Side? A bit meaner but I'm sure that's workable.



Alec- While he is far too old, Jim Sturgess has the general look of Alec down pretty well. He seems a bit too happy to play someone as angstilicious as Alec, I'm sure he could pull it off, if he was five years younger.

Bill Kaulitz is hot, and he has the hair, and he has the (partly) skin, and the makeup, why not? And it has been working for me. I can't actually come up with characters. Give me a picture, throw me a bone and I'm fine. Like with Jace, I took the guy on the cover and I added the top half of the head. And he was my Jace. XDDD.

Okay, about Jim Sturgis. He is like, oh my gosh perfect I personally think. And his age.... I actually think it is workable. Think about it, he's young and perfect, if we make Jace somewhat fit his age [as in NOT the guy from Strom Breaker cause he is waaay too young] then it will be perfect. He's 17. And he's a guy. Guys at 17 look older then you would think. If we got a Jace that looked like he could be best friends with Jim then they would be perfect together. :]

I know that Cassandra wrote in her livejournal that there has been a lot of interest from studios about optioning the series but she also wrote it's a pretty demanding series to shoot and studios know they have to invest a lot of money in making it into movies and that's why they are still hesitant or something to that extent. Did something change?

Anyway, here's my list

Jace Wayland: My first choice would be Jensen Ackles but he is obviously too old, already in his thirties. My second choice would be Toby Hemingway but he is 21 already and won't be able to pass as a teen for much longer so the movies would need to be done right now which is not happening! Which takes me to more viable choices like Jeremy Sumpter (19), Ed Speleers (20) or Max Thieriot(20)

Clary Fray: I think my ideal Clary would be Emma Roberts. She is beautiful but not in a too 'obvious' way, she has the ignorance, naiveté and sweetness that characterize Clary in the beginning of the series and she is a good enough actress to pull of the more tough aspects of Clary's personality.

Simon Lewis: My ideal Simon is Mike Bailey. Cameron Bright wouldn't be that bad or maybe Thomas Dekker as a last resort.

Isabelle Lightwood: Isabelle's got to be both beautiful and sensual so I imagined her being like Emily Browning, Michelle Trachtenberg, Rachel Hurd Wood or Shailene Woodley.

Alec Lightwood: My ideal Alec would be Gaspard Ulliel but he is French and 24 so no hope there. My second favourite is nineteen year old British actor Andrew Simpson. Skandar Keynes could be an option too.

Luke Garroway: My absolute favourite Luke is Jeffrey Dean Morgan but Scott Patterson wouldn't be that bad either.

Magnus Bane: Magnus is the toughest one for me. I just don't know who'd make him justice. Best choice I've come across is Gackt but I'm sure there are better options.

Valentine Morgenstem: Gerard Butler

Hodge Starkweather: My favourite choice would be Paul Blackthorne. My second choice would be Julianne McMahon or Terrence Mann.

Madame Dorothea: I always pictured her like Particia Belcher

Jocelyn Fray: My absolute favourite choice for Jocelyn would be Julianne Moore of course. Marcia Cross wouldn't be a bad choice either!!

Raphael: Steven Strait

Maia: Someone like Afshan Azad or Ivana Baquero maybe?

Maryse: Angelina Jolie

Imogen: Tilda Swinton or Helen Mirren

I would really like to see CoB as a TV show or something. Movies are pretty short and you can't really get a lot into developing the characters like you could be able to on a TV show.
A CoB movie would be kind of exciting for me not at the same time Clare really describes everything very well in her books that I can see it as a movie in my head without needing the visual aid.

If it does become a movie I hope we won't have idiotic screaming Jace fangirls rushing into see all that is hot about Jace like some nimrods did with Twilight (sorry if I'm insulting you but really Edward/Robert is on the screen, he can't hear you nor do I think he wants to and he is not your boyfriend for crying out loud).

Oh! Megan Fox! Nice choice! I totally forgot about her!

Oh, and btw guys, since we are bordering on Twilight anyways, people [this is in like, November 2007] were definitely hoping that Gaspard would get the role for Edward. That's how I knew him when you said he would make a good choice.

Jamie Johnston also looks the part of Jace. He is a 19 year old Canadian actor. He's got a melancholic look that would fit with Jace's tough persona which is really masking a tortured soul.



I'm not particularly fond of Megan Fox. She is most definitely a very beautiful woman but the way she dresses and acts is more than sensual or sexy; in my opinion it is kind of sluty but I don't have to worry about her getting the part because she's already outgrown Isabelle by far.

Jamie Johnston! ZOMG- completely forgot about him! He would make a great Jace. I loved him as Peter on Degrassi.

Also, I don't like Megan Fox either. I watched her when she was on Hope & Faith (SHUDUPILIEKSOAPOPERASMKAY!) and she looked, honest to god, a bit like I imagined Clary. Real perky, red hair, all that stuff. But then she got a nose job, a boob job and dyed her hair and I just lost all the respect I had for here. Coincidentally, there wasn't that much to begin with, but still, it's a loss nonetheless.

So Megan Fox as Isabelle, in my opinion, = fail. Plus she's too old, as many people have said.
