I can SEE what you are saying, but at the same time, I can see the pendulum swinging the opposite way entirely. Hollywood would realize that HALF of the book is the steamy romances. That is honestly half of all of the books. The mortal intruments is 50% action and fight stuff and 50% romance. And by romance, I mean all of it. And I did get slightly offended because it sounded like you were hiniting that we [the girls on this forum] only like the Clary and Jace and we don't appreciate the rest. Quite frankly, that was one major reason i loved the books. Because the entire book is all contraversy -- its all new thinking. I want Jace and Clary to be realted. I want them to be together. I want them to stand up and scream "We don't care what the hell people think -- we love each other, and no matter what society says we WILL love each other". Many people were uncomforatable at the end of CoB when they found out they were related. I was devasted, but not because I think its wrong [my belief is that love is love no matter what context and it is not up to society to decide which love is right and which is disgusting] but because I knew the two of them would care. I was still all for them getting together, but I was afraid that they wouldn't be. And I was happy to be proven wrong because obviously they still loved each other. I loved the books because Cassandra was not affraid to put in gay couples. At first I got like a little stop of the heart when they said Alec was gay, not because I have a problem, but because it just feels almost like a taboo to have a gay couple. But Cassandra was not affraid and she went on full force. And I loved her for it. I love all of the tension. I love Magnus. I love Alec. I love all of the difficulty. I love how perfect Alec and Magnus are for each other but Alec 'loves' Jace when Jace is clearly not gay so the couple wouldn't really work. All of the tension between Simon and Jace is great too. And what I am definitely looking forward to is all of the tension between Sabastien and Jace because as we see from the cookies is going to be great. This is turning into a really long rant and I am considering deleting it. But I wont.

I think maybe Hollywood would jump right into it. I think they might see all of the tension and go "This is great! This is gold!" and might put it up on big screen. Maybe there are dir3ctors out there LOOKING for this kind of story. I think so. And besides, I don't see this as a movie. I see this as a TV series. Just because I don't think anything should be cut out. And I think it has full potential as a series.

But I battle ocnstantly with myself on whether i want or don't want a movie. Becuase there is SOOOO much tension, and a lot of it isnt' action. A lot of it is just a slight little touch -- but that one touch means everything. So I don't really know how successful one might be going about putting words into action. I was worried about Twilight being the same and I still don't think they pulled it off. I mean the part where they're in the car and they reach for each other and then they touch and jump back and they're like "OMG." Urg. Did not like that at all. So I'm a little worried that CoB will have some of those moments and it won't be all that good.

Entire point of this: We as the crazy fangirls LOVE all of the homosexuality in the books. Perhaps some girls have convinced you that we only care about clary and Jace but I assure you we appreciate and love and go crazy over all aspects of the books.

I love Miyavi(I'm gonna see him perform at the Anime Matsuri in April! ) and I agree that he would make an excellent Magnus. Truth be told, I loved all your choices. Well, I'm kind of partial to your Simon but your Alec(love Thomas Dekker), Isabelle, and Clary are great.

Jace -- I love the whole Alex Pettyfer thing, but my absolute number one is Mitch Hewer. He's godly, and could definitely pull off the sarcastic sexiness that Jace embodies.



Isabelle -- April Pearson, without a doubt. She's absolutely gorgeous, and on Skins, already played a somewhat conceited sex-bomb, so she'd be perfect for the role.



Clary -- Aimee-ffion Edwards. Is it just me or does she just scream Clary? A little hair dye and she'd be good to go.



Simon -- Mike Bailey, all the way. He's so nerdy and Simon-y, it's almost strange. My only concern with him is that he might not be able to pull off Simon's irony as well.
