| Yes, Megan Fox is to old. But I think if she was younger she could fit the look of Isabelle. I don't nessacarily think that she could act the part though _________________ Unfortunalty we're all out of bitter revenge, so it's tea or nothing.

| Huh. I saw a video where someone used the Tokio Hotel guy as Magnus, and I kind of get it now, actually. It's just the hair that makes me cringe whenever I see it. I mean, sure, Magnus's hair is spiked, but it's not //that// poofy! Yeah, he probably is the best choice for those making MI videos at the moment. Though finding an ideal Magnus for an actual movie wouldn't be that hard - we just need a thin, tall part-Asian dude that would be willing to spend a hell of a lot of time in the makeup chair. As far as I know, nothing's changed as for movie plans. And, by the way, Emma Roberts is a FANTASTIC Clary, in my opinion. -looks at Gema's post about that short nerdy-looking guy- HOLY MJOLNIR, he's 14?!?!?! -dies- No. Way. How is he... 0____o _________________ "And that there." Magnus said, looking across the room at Will. "The boy with the angry looks and the eyes like twilight in hell. That's Will?" | Another great choice for Isabelle would be seventeen year old Willa Holland. I saw her on Gossip Girl as Agnes and she was really good in her part and it is obvious she is a very gorgeous girl. _________________ avatar by Atonement. "We are what we are Niall. Also, anothe fun fact- Freddie Highmore is older than I am!! I know, right!?!? When I said "grows up" I was refering to his height, not his age. He's about fourteen now, I believe.

| DOODZ. I found images of my casting choices for Jace and Alec where they LOOK like their characters. I was losing faith in Alex Pettyfer as Jace, but then I saw this... LOOKLOOKLOOKIT'SJACE And then I was icon-ing Gaspard for Alec-luff icons, and I saw this. HIS HAIRRRR! =D IT BE SO ALEC-LIKE! What was the quote? "His hair, which looked like he had cut it himself in the dark..." something like that, anyway, HIS HAIRRRRRRRRR! Holy. Crap. Am I the only one who thinks that makes him look like Alec? _________________ "And that there." Magnus said, looking across the room at Will. | Yup. They are deffinitly Jace and Alec, Hands down. Ofcourse, any company who decide's to produce a COB movie, could go the way of the Twilight movies, and find us some nice up and coming actors. I think that would work too, there are alot of actors/actresses that are talented but not really known. _________________ Unfortunalty we're all out of bitter revenge, so it's tea or nothing.

| Okay, can I just say -- before I get started -- that I absolutely loved Lucian11's post. He provided pics for every person and I really enjoyed that. It was a nice, slightly detailed opinion. Anyway, I'm sticking to the norms with my suggestive cast. Alexz Johnson as Clary. I can really see Alexz carrying her personality throughout a movie if one were to be made. Instant Star is one of my favorite shows and I can easily point out a lot of comparisons between Jude and Clary so its a given for me. There are only a handful of other girls that I can see taking her place. Stacey Farber is one of the few. I loved The O.C. but I can't see Willa Holland filling the boots of Clary. As for Jace? I'm once again going with the majority. Alex Pettyfer is an excellent choice. And, while I have not seen any of his movies, he seems to carry Jace's demeanor with him in his posture during all the fanvids I watch. He also has the tight, sculted, thin body that Jace has been described to have. But, if Kyle Schmid was a lot younger I'd definitely go with him. He looks exactly like the guy on the front cover of the book. Simon? I'll once again follow the norm. I personally think Kristopher Turner is an excellent choice. It probably doesn't help that I'm a Jamie/Jude(Instant Star) shipper. I honestly never even considered others to play the part of Simon. And yes, Kristopher is kind of old looking but he has that youthful look so it balances. On the other hand, I see a lot of possibilities for Alec. It seems like Gasper Ulliel has majority of the vote and I definitely won't knock it but I see someone a lot more "prettier". Thomas Dekker and Adam Gregory are at the top of my considered list but I'm open to other options(moreso than the afore mentioned). Isabelle is a tough choice because a lot of people see her in different lights. I mean, she is basically described as a walking sex symbol in the books but for some reason people see a subtle innocence in her and they'll choose someone who can carry that innocence. Like, I can never imagine Leighton Meester playing Isabelle(and I love her. She's amazing on GG). Reading the books I picture Nikki Reed with a whip in tow. But I can very much understand disagreement on that one. I noticed with Magnus a few people often name Asians. And not just here. I saw someone say Mike He would be a good Magnus Bane. But Magnus isn't Asian soooo.... What about characters like Raphael and Maia? I'd like to see some opinions on who they'd like those characters to be portrayed by. |

| I'm extremely sorry for double-posting but there were a few thoughts that came to mind about a possible media adaption and I felt that the first post was long enough. Besides, this is more about a thought on the movie and elements that may or may not be used for the movie. First off, I have to say that I love Cassandra's writing. I always tell my friends that the books read like fanfiction(no hold bars) and that got me thinking that it may be a bad thing for a movie. The main element in the MI books that screams 'fanfiction' to me is the slash. And I got to think that maybe slash is a little too taboo for mainstream and I kind of got a gut feeling that they'll minimize it to just mere subtext. I'd be extremely upset if they do that because I find the slash to be essential to character development and the presence of the books. I can see Hollywood almost obliterating Alec's infatuation with Jace. In the books it's there on an emotional, admirable, and most of all sexual level. A movie might take away the former and latter elements and have Alec's attraction to Jace come off as an admirable appreciation. Plus, they might take out all the touching and such as well. And the slash isn't there with just Alec and Jace either. It's there with Jace and Simon as well. The love/hate relationship builds and almost undeniable and inevitable sexual tension between the both of them and it was more than subtly touched upon in CoA when Simon drunk Jace's blood. QUOTE FROM "City of Ashes": PAGE 414But Simon wasn't hurting him-not really-the pain that had started out sharp faded to a sort of dull burn, pleasant the way the burn of a stele was sometimes pleasant. A drowsy sense of peace stole through Jace's veins and he felt his muscles relax; the hands that had been trying to push Simon away a moment ago now pressed him closer. He could feel the beat of his heart, feel it slowing, its hammering fading to a softer echo. A shimmering darkness crept in at the corners of his vision, beautiful and strange. Jace closed his eyes----X-- While a scene like that can win an Oscar in a movie not about teens and aimed to a broader audience, I can't see Hollywood allowing such a passionate, gritty, nearly-sexual scene being allowed between two straight, appealing teen guys in a story where the focused romance is your typical teen boy/teen girl relationship. Especially when the aimed demographic: fangirls(not unlike the ones I suppose are stampeding these forums) are too closed-minded against homosexuality. If you don't believe me, check out the fan reaction to Rpattz and Little Ashes. The Twimoms are saying he'll lose his career while critics are predicting Golden Globe nominations. Alec and Magnus's relationship in the book is already subtle enough. Anything being cut between the both of them would make their relationship a mere suggestion and I think Hollywood would find that to be the better option. There's also a lot of gay jokes there that Cassandra isn't afraid to throw in(the "coming out to your parents" pamplet that Clary gave to Simon; Jace's constant suggestions of Simon being attracted by him; Jace's nonchalant, almost impressed, behavior about Alec's obvious attraction to him; etc.) There's so much there on slash and homosexual that seems so taboo on the big-screen(especially for the teen movie genre). Not to mention Jace and Clary's willingness to go approach a relationship with each other under the circumstances. While I do believe Jace isn't Valentine's son, it was still considered the case in book 2 and there are a lot of gentle, passionate moments they share despite the situation. I can see a lot of soccermoms rebelling against the affection the both of them shared because they find it "impressionable" to their children(and I strongly disagree but I have no voice in media). Not to mention the main plotline on its own. Religion is a very sensitive subject in Hollywood and we're talking about angels vs. demons here. That's a metaphor for the battle between heaven and hell. Christians would probably protest against the movie. If the movies stay true to the books then it would be a widely controversial trilogy, I think. All the rage on Harry Potter is nothing compared to the text in MI. I pray that if and when a movie gets made, it stays 100% true to the books. I think it can be the beginning of unsettling the prejudice bias(oxymoron much?) that we have built for the teen movie genre. |

Magnus actually is part Asian, so while not completely, that still makes sense (to me, at any rate).
CoB, page 219:
| Quote: | | Clary guessed from the curve of his sleepy eyes and the gold tone of his evenly tanned skin that he was part Asian. |
