How absolutely amazing the Prison scene was. You know, the one where the Inquisitor makes Jace stay a night in the prison cells of City of Bones.

I dunno, when I first read it I was just thinking "omg this is amzing and gosh how hot Jace is and wow look at that Jace has emotion? Impossible but wow are they related? They couldn't be ohh I wanna know how this ends." XD. But I re-read the book over the summer and so I actually paid attention. And I tried to picture everything and stuff exactly how Cassandra described it. I was sitting in a comfy chair at a cottage in the bright sun and I tried picturing exactly how Jace must have felt; and I actually got goose-bumps. Like, I was scared. I don't know if I could have lived if it was me in the cell. Sitting in comeplete darkness, chained to a wall, and knowing this is where murders and phycopaths have sat before me. And not only that, but hearing distant screams? Then figuring out that it was the silent brothers. And I shivered when Cassnadra said something like, how scary could it have possibly been to make men who have not spoken a single word for 5 centuries scream? What powers could have possibly broken the silent rune?

No joke, that takes skill. I was beyond impressed. Like, this was more then a "good book". This was a spectacularly written scene and I just felt like giving it some love. Because I don't think saying the entire book is sufficient. Well... and I felt the boards were kind of dying.

So were there some other scenes that you guys think need a shout out?

The second scene I was "wow"-ing at was the one in the near beggining. Where Jace is in Luke's office and him, Clary, and Luke talk. Not specifically because it was super well written but because of the emotion from Jace.

Quote:
She turned back to Jace. "Do you have to be so---," she began, but stopped when she saw his face. It looked stripped down, oddly vulnerable.
"Unpleasant?" he finished for her. "Only on days when my adoptive mother tosses me out of the house with instructions never to darken her door again. Usually, I'm remarkably good-natured. Try me on any day that doesn't end in a y."

Very Happy I am shocked with all of his emotion every time I read the chapter. Like, does anyone recall when he actually said please to Luke?! Hello?! Come on. You have to admit that's impressive.

So those are some of the scenes I was impressed with. What are other peoples? [the boards really are dying guys, lets keep them alive at least until CoG comes out]

I haven't read either of the books in a while so I just reread the
"Sins of the Fathers" chapter I think you were reffering to. I agree
with you on the creepiness of the scene. My biggest fear is the dark. I
can't imagine what it would be like to sit alone in the dark without
any reference to time and without any idea of what would happen to me.
Especially when it gets to the part with the screams. And then Brother
Jeremiah staggering around, completely terrorized. I thought this was a
nice touch. The Brothers are a scary bunch but she made them sound
downright terrifying:

Quote:
Brother Jeremiah staggered into view, his right hand
clutching a still-burning torch, his parchment hood fallen back to
reveal a face torqued into a grotesque expression of terror. His
previously sewn-shut mouth gaped open in a soundless scream, the gory
threads of torn stitches dangling from his shredded lips.

That last part gives me chills everytime I read it. It is SO creepy.

I also like the part when they all find Jace in the cell.

Quote:
"I'm all right," Jace protested, but his hand gripped Alec's sleeve tightly. "I can stand."
"It looks to me like you're using a wall to prop you up. That's not my definition of 'standing'"
"It's leaning," Jace told him. "Leaning comes right before standing."

haha i love how they can still find something to argue about when the
situation is so creepy. That's what I like about Alec and Jace's
relationship. Alec is always worrying and Jace is always acting like a
smartass with false reassurance. But it's endearing nontheless.

Anyways, that's my two cents. I want to get some discussions going! haha.

I agree. I could not wait for that scene to be over! the silent brothers give me the heebie-jeebies.......
The inquisitor totally made me hate her when she threw Jace in jail. it totally seemed to me that she only did it cause she didn't like him... I mean it isn't like she had any right to. Not really.
I personally didn't really have a favorite part/quote in CoA cause I liked the entire book.
I was sort of annoyed at Jace alot in that book though. As surprising as that may be. He was a jerk alot in both CoA and CoG..... Sad
