Has somebody read this book? from my point of view, it is really good! Smile

That it tries?:

Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license -- for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there.
But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world -- and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.

I've been thinking of reading these for a really long time. I have a lot on my to-read list right now, but I can't wait to read them!

I thought the first book was one of the dumbest books I ever read in my entire life. I thought it was sooooo stupid and I was pissed all the way through. Why? Because literaly, ALL I wanted was for Tally to be a pretty. That's all I wanted. So I was incredibly pissed of all the way through. And I hated the guy. URGGG. But the last two lines of the book made up for it.

"Hi, I'm Tally. Make me a pretty"
<333333

That was the only reason I read the sequel. And now, The Pretties was actually REEALLLYY GGOOODD. And I enjoyed it emensly. I thought it was great. Mostly because of Zane-la. Oh man he was my favourite character. He was so great. Beecause all I wanted was for her to be pretty, and she wasss. <3333 so ti was great. And So then when she was pretty no longer, I declared this a stupid series. And I will not pick up the thrid one.

Ohh Alaska! Spechials (the third book) is THE best book in the series!!! I think that In Speachials Tally actuly begins to think for herself, somthing that she doesn't do for the whole series (and that's what pissed me off).
Spoiler:

Scott Westerfeld is my favorite author, like, EVER. In the history of all the books I've ever read... which is a lot.
Uglies series was seriously great, and it's on my re-reading list at the moment, along with all of the MI books, and Skinned by Robin Wasserman.
Specials was definitely the best book in the series. It made my want to scream at some points, cry at others -
Spoiler:

, and yip for joy at even more. I especially loved Tally's little speech at the end of the book, and Spag-Bol will always hold a 'special' *giggles at irony* place in my heart. XDD
I really didn't like David much during the course of the series, and I was glad when Tally was with Zane instead... I'd rather have Tally be only friends with David.
And I wanted Shay to die in every single book except Uglies, when she was at least normal. And then I was hoping Tally would push Peris off of a very high building whilst he was unaware and not wearing one of those bungee jackets so he would die, too.
I must say, more of Fausto would have been appreciated. He was my favorite non-main character.

Petite - did you read the book or just the back cover? Because if you just read the back cover, the book sounds really crappy, when in reality, it's not. (:

hm... I dunno... I only read Uglies for the moment... I love the plot but I hate the characters... because there ARE no characters... only stick people with no real developped personality...

but yeah, the plot's really good
