Well since I've only finished CoB it will take a while for me to get into all the details of the characters further.. As for Twilight I've just started reading this series so I'm way behind on all the angst and dynamics of the characters as well. But just reading the first six chapters I can understand why MI and Twilight just pulls you in. Just love the stories. Haha although interesting enough..because these are both good authors, they're very good with their vocabularies too and I've been having to pull my dictionary every so often to figure out some of the big words. Lastly this may sound shallow but when I started reading CoB in my mind Alex Pettyfer's face kept popping up whenever I read Jace and now when I'm reading Twilight, Robert Pattison's face is the only I can see playing him. Sigh..there are some mighty fine UK hotties across the Atlantic that's all I can say. Jules

I think your side is completely reasonable. And I can see where you are coming from. It's just hard for me to give up the series completely because I've been so obsessed with it for so long that it's just apart of my structure now, kind of like Harry Potter. Talking about Twilight to me is like talking about the weather or the color of the grass, just something natural. But I must say that I AM STILL stoked for Midnight Sun *nods* Maybe then I'll have a deeper understanding of Edward - which would be cool... No worries friend, none of us are going to jump on you for an opinion, we all have our own and it's nice to see someone who has a different one

I agree with what you're saying about Midnight Sun. I can't wait for that to come out. I think Twilight was the best of the books so far and getting to see things from Edward's point of view is going to be fun.

I read the Twilight Books before I found the MI Books, and don't some of you felt that when reading City of Bones and CoG that Jace just resembles Edward a little too much? Not the way he looks, just the way he always feels a little superior to everybody elso and just his general behaviour?? And that also reminds me that I felt this whole scenario about Valentine's "Shadowhunters are better than everybody elso, so let's kill them" is a little bit like what Voldemort and the Deatheaters are doing in Harry Potter? Don't get me wrong, I really like the MI books, I was just wondering if anybody elso saw these resemblances?

I agree with you, Mai tai, in some part. The superiority thing is just a general, well used theme that is good for causing conflict. I do NOT think that Jace resembles Edward that much I have a strong bias against this. Twilight! I bought, I read, I thought. I agree with what gentlebillvy said. The story could've been much much stronger if they didn't go about repeating themselves. It got tiring I liked Jason (the bad vamp, yeah?), actually. Because he was a little crazy and that's interesting. If we could've gotten to that part a lot sooner and drawn out that suspense, with Bella and Edward's emotional conflict happening inbetween, I'd totally be more into the books. But hay, whatever you're into I may or may not peruse the other books, but not right now. Though I promised my sister I'd attend the BD release with her. (she's 28, by the way, lol)

Alex, I'm going to the BD midnight release too. I'm very excited about getting the end of the series. However, i feel like i'm going to be in a small minority of males at borders that night. I was talking to Megan and I said I'd be surprised if I saw more than 5 (probably more like 2 lol) guys buying the book that weren't dads buying for their daughters. So be prepared to be in the minority Alex...but you're a good brother going with your sister

I'm sure it won't measure up to a Harry potter release for sure...but I'm rather impatient so I'll be there at midnight. Hopefully there won't be too many teenybopper kids there.

Yeah so um, anyone finished?I'm not, but I got about halfway, and then promptly decided that I did not plan to finish at all.Personally, I hate it.I spent the whole time thinking in my head: "Are.You.Fucking.Kidding.Me" (excuse my language)Not finishing.Sticking with the Eclipse ending. And sticking by my opinion that there are better books.Anyone who's finished or at least read some of it, agree?I've talked to many people who do.What are your opinions?
