Ok... So I know Mick loves her books and I have seen some other people saying they like them... So which one is your favorite?

Personally. My favorite is This Lullaby. I absolutely love it! Really. I love Dexter. And Remy is so unlike me that I love it... I like to read books where I can connect with a character, but still not connect...

I just recently finished Lock and Key, which I think is my 2nd favorite.

And of course The Truth About Forever.

I also love how she creates this little world and you see other characters from her other books.

So which Sarah Dessen books do you like?

I have so far read:

This Lullaby
Keeping The Moon
That Summer

And I LOVE Sarah Dessen. That Summer was pretty good but I didn't really like the ending. I mean, I totally expected the girl to become maybe friends with the supermodel when she ran into her in thw woods, but nope. Nothing. And in Keeping the Moon, Collie ... I both liked her and hated her. I really related to her when she talked about how she couldnt really stand up for herself and how she couldnt comfort Morgan because she wasn't used to the feeling but I just flat out got so mad at her when she saw Norman and Aunt Mira and was all like "oh god. Artists. Lord help us all. I cannot be seen with these people." and then she is all embarased and doesn't want to gove either of them a chance cause they are "too weird" for her. Gosh. And then she says that Norma wasn't her type and then she decided to go after that cute boy she met at the beach. OOhhhh... she made me SO mad at times.

And in This Lullaby I loved most of it except Remy got me riled up at times. She's just so conservative and strict and so not open and flowing. But you have to admire a girl who throws a Quik Zip at her friends ex-boyfriend. And I loved Dexter. SO much. Him and his yellow house. And The ending was amazing. I loved it. So I don't know about favourites. Because they each have something I like and something I didn't like,

The Truth About Forever.

Hands down one of the most theraputic books I have ever read in my entire life. I read it at a point in my life where death played a huge role in my life and it was hard to really move on from stuff. That book really showed me the meaning of what forever really means, and how to move on from a tragedy such as death.
Seriously, the book is amazing and I've read it countless times. I keep the thing under my mattress at all times because I can't be too far apart from it.
Sad, but very true.
I've read every single book by Sarah Dessen and everything is good, but The Truth About Forever just really hit me good, hard and long.

My ultimate favorite is Just Listen. It's just...I dunno. I love Owen. Don't get me wrong, I love Dexter too. Meggle gives me all kinds of crap about liking Owen over Dex. But....Whatever.
Second is The Truth About Forever. It was the last one I read by her...I loved it. And then Lock and Key. It made me so sad that Nate had to go away and live somewhere else, but it was still a great book.

I love how we get to see all her characters come together in other books. Lock and Key was like one big reunion!

I've only read one book and that was Just Listen. I loved it. Owen was just.. so different from any fictional character I've come across. It was refreshing. I'd love a friend like him. Brutal honesty - I like that aspect too. I'm always wanting honesty from people.

So...like four years ago, a good friend of mine told me, and I quote, "Oh my god, you HAVE to read This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen! It is the best book I've ever read!"

And so I read it. And you know what? I didn't like it. At all.

I felt like it lacked something. Though I did think it was funny when her mom threw all of the Ensure cans at that guy. But that's about it.

I think I've read all of them except for one...

This Lullaby
The Truth About Forever
Someone Like You
Keeping the Moon
Lock and Key
Just Listen
That Summer

My friends made me read most of them. Very Happy

Personally, I liked This Lullaby and the Truth About Forever. As for the rest, I wasn't too pleased. Dessen is a touch and go author.

I love Sarahs books. Ive read and own all of them except for Keeping the moon which i will get eventually.
My favorite was indeed the truth about forever although i will always have a soft spot for dreamland because it was the first book of hers that i ever read. Im actually surprised no one below has mentioned this book. It was so different from all her other ones. Not better of course not better. They were all amazing. But this one...it was just raw and pure. It was Dessen on a whole new level. This book went places where some YA books couldn't even dream of going IMHO. Oh sure there's plenty of books out their that talk about relationship abuse and drugs and yada yada but ive never read one that had quite as much heart as this one has.
I also really loved this lullaby it was the second book of hers i read and i immediately fell in love with clumsy Dexter. But really now who couldn't?
The thing i like most about Dessens books is that they all teach you something. They aren't just purely for entertainment. They help you with life. And with each one of her books you finish you walk away as a better person. And while they do teach you lessons she does it in such a way where its not boring and it actually does get through to you. Im very passionate about Sarah's books. They have helped me through some very dark spots of my life and i will forever be grateful. I don't think she can even imagine how much her stories mean to me. And i know ppl are always saying that about books but i mean it. I really do. It was just like when Caitlyn was walking around in a Dreamland. That was me. I was there but then i really wasn't. Sarahs books helped restore my soul. My spirit. ME.
