Well I started out with crappy windows paint, then I got a trial of Photoshop CS2 and participated in lots of HE graphic challenges, did some of Amy's tutorials, was begged by friends to make graphics since they had only paint, had no life for a good 5 months (not that its really improved), got full photoshop 7 during that time, then got CS, and well I just improved as I practiced. Especially after I started doing Photo Manipulations and learned the greatness of textures...more so than before.

Haha yes I gave you the whole story...sorry...no quick answer.
