Jace and Clary's matching scars- just want to know your theories on this

It might have been a nickname from a nickname, my nephews nickname is CJ and I call him "CEG" Basically don't pronounce all of the J.

I'm not sure about the meenings behind the scars, but I recal that the inquiseter(excuse spelling) was making a big deal of Jace's before dieing on the ship.

Jace's scar is actualy supposed to be on his left shoulder. According to Cassie there was a typo in the book. (The scar is mentioned twice in the series, once on his right and then on his left.). This makes a bit more sense since Jace is left handed.
